1912 Center
Located at 412 East 3rd Street, the former Moscow High School, built in 1912, is a three-story, 30,000 square foot building located on the edge of a historic residential neighborhood, three blocks from the City's commercial core. It is an excellent example of classical style architecture built during the Progressive School Era, with classic details in brick and white terracotta that are unique to the area.
This landmark is the home of Moscow's first multi-generational, multipurpose community center. The 1912 Center was purchased from the school district by the City of Moscow in 1997 from funds donated entirely by private citizens. Phase I of the project (Great Room, Kitchen and Plaza) opened to the public in October 2001. Phase II (Senior Center and Friendship Hall) opened in June of 2002.
We rent the Great Room, Kitchen, Plaza, Arts Workshop, Fiske Room, LeCompte Auditorium, Community Room, and Reception Hall to groups or individuals for events and proceeds go to the continuing renovation of the remaining unfinished portions of the facility.
Make your wedding, birthday, baby shower, dance, potluck or lecture even more memorable at the 1912 Center! ..... Heart of the Arts, Inc.
Founded in 2003 to develop and fund artistic and
cultural programs, using the 1912 Center as the heart of that
development, Heart of the Arts, Inc. is the non-profit company selected
by the City of Moscow to run, maintain and grow the 1912 Center. HAI
took over operations on May 1, 2007.
Heart of the Arts, Inc.'s mission is to:
- Provide space and programs that welcome the greater Moscow community, residents and non-residents a like.
- Foster connections between the community and various art forms.
Unite the community across the lines of age, race, gender and economics.
- Give visibility to the history of this community.
- Nurture new programs and organizations to meet emerging community need

The Animal Clinic and Hospital opened its doors in 1947 with one veterinarian in a small house where the Moscow Food Co-op now stands. As the business grew and services expanded, a new house and clinic was built on its current site. The house was eventually incorporated into the business and the Animal Clinic has grown to a 5,000 square foot state-of-the-art veterinary hospital that employs six veterinarians and a staff of 14 dedicated caregivers.
Our motto of "Quality, Compassionate Care" describes the grassroots philosophy we strive for in treating each animal as if they were our own. We use advanced procedures and diagnostics to ensure the best and most up to date medical care possible. Being able to offer the best in ultrasounds, digital radiographs, and endoscopic services give us the knowledge needed for an accurate diagnosis. Advanced orthopedic procedures such as TPLO's and stem cell therapy keep your pet close to home with personal individual care. Vaccinations to spaying or neutering to geriatric care, your pet becomes part of our family.
Equine and large animals are treated by coming to your house with our well equipped mobile veterinary truck.

Helping customers understand insurance and all of the little details that make up the coverage on an insurance policy is the agency's primary focus. Off the Troy Hwy, Moscow
|
|
|
|
|
Eastside Marketplace is a 150,000-square-foot shopping center on the east end of Moscow off the Troy Highway. The 15-acre facility at 1420 S Blaine St., previously owned by Bennett Holdings, was recently purchased by Real Life on the Palouse, a non-denominational, service-oriented church which currently meets at the SEL Event Center in Pullman. The organization intends to create a new business entity to manage the Marketplace and renovate the event space into their Moscow campus where they will hold services. Under the ownership of the Bennett family, Eastside Marketplace received a $2 million makeover in 1997 transforming the inside of the shopping center into a true marketplace complete with lampposts and umbrellas. In 2006, the owners added a toddler play area to the center of the shopping center. Along with the daily activity of business at Eastside Marketplace it’s also a place for a variety of programs, events and meetings. Eastside Marketplace’s ownership and merchants host many annual family-oriented community programs including Home for the Holidays – where children can come play games and enjoy a free Christmas movie courtesy of Eastside Cinemas; Eggstravaganza – where young children can participate in an indoor egg hunt; and Trick–or–Treat, where children can pick up candy and win prizes Courtesy of one of Eastside Marketplace’s tenants, First Step Internet, the shopping center is also an internet hotspot. With the help of both the ownership and merchant mix at Eastside Marketplace, the shopping center is fast becoming a place to do business and spend quality time.

The
Moscow, Idaho community (and larger local region) represents an
underdeveloped and underserved outdoor advertising market and we intend
to address that need.
Moscow's relative proximity to Pullman, WA (both towns boasting a state
university just 7 miles apart) makes the regional population larger
& more diverse than one might otherwise assume. As a result many
businesses recognize that area residents and students frequent both
municipalities and therefore advertise accordingly.

I grew up in Moscow, went away to college, and came back in 1973 with a law degree from Stanford. I've been here ever since, practicing law with an emphasis in probate, estate planning, wills, trusts, real estate, land titles, and business entities.
I enjoy meeting with clients, preparing documents to meet their needs, and helping them navigate the legal world. I believe most disputes can be resolved through communication and negotiation, or avoided through good planning and document preparation. However, I am now semi-retired, and I'm limiting my practice to former and continuing clients.

The Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre is Moscow's local historical theatre and has been playing films, showing live performances, and hosting social events since 1926. Located at 508 Main Street, the Kenworthy Theatre occupies a dominant position in the very midst of downtown Moscow. Although the opening of the Kenworthy Theatre as a public theater by Milburn Kenworthy took place on January 4, 1926, parts of the building were in use as an opera house as far back as 1908. Milburn Kenworthy purchased a Robert Morton theater pipe organ in 1927 which was used to accompany silent films. The organ is now housed at the University of Idaho Auditorium, where it has been restored to premium condition. This brick structure was enlarged in 1928 by extending the theater southward for twenty feet. At that time, the theater was used for vaudeville and other dramatic productions and had a full but shallow stage with proscenium and fly space (see attached photos). It was also used for silent films with the placement of a screen in front of the stage and a projection booth at the back of the balcony. A non-profit organization, Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre, Inc. was formed, and in January, 2000 initiated operation and restoration of the theater.

Laurene Sorensen - Law and Mediation
Laurene Sorensen
Hours: By appointment
Downtown Moscow
|
|
|
|
|
I am a lawyer and mediator. This requires me to be a life coach, a management consultant, a counselor, a facilitator, or a teacher, depending on the situation and the needs of my client. Mediation is my favorite thing to do. It’s often much more practical than litigation, as it lets individuals resolve their disputes rather than giving that power to a judge. In mediation, you’re not just a plaintiff or a defendant. Each party brings his or her whole personality to the table: values, issues, baggage, sense of honor, and sense of humor. Mediation gives individuals leeway to craft flexible, personalized solutions. In Moscow, mediation is frequently used to resolve of divorce and parenting issues, and is mandated in small claims cases in the Second District of Idaho. However, it’s appropriate for all kinds of situations, and especially helpful as a way to avoid the cost, acrimony and stress of a court case. I’ve mediated disputes over a baby python, a mangy dog, and an art collection, as well as landlord-tenant and collections issues. When I’m wearing my lawyer hat, I like to focus on transactional law—in lay terms, “contract law”. This includes real estate, finance, business law, taxation, debtor/creditor issues, and family wealth management (wills, trusts, etc.). I believe in “the art of the deal,” and prefer putting things together to taking them apart. In my early career I worked on numerous multi-million-dollar financings, and was taught by some of the best lawyers on Wall Street how to draft, review, and and negotiate contracts. In my off hours, I teach and study yoga, slacklining, and acrobatics, and these demanding disciplines help me stay calm and grounded. I strive to balance attention to detail with awareness of the big picture, and am comfortable handling complex situations and challenging personalities. I received a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, an M.A. in English from Columbia University, a B.A. from Oberlin College, and 40-hour civil mediation training at the Northwest Institute for Dispute Resolution. Currently I am licensed to practice in Idaho, Washington, Rhode Island, and New York.

Gayne Nitta, LocoGrinz owner, was born in Moscow while both his parents attended the University of Idaho for graduate school. Upon his parents' graduation, he and his family moved back to the islands.
The University of Idaho Law School is what brought Gayne "home" along with his wife Tanya. After earning his law degree, Gayne decided to use his education to pursue a business career. He decided to combine his passion for food and business to enter the restaurant industry.
The result was the creation of LocoGrinz, Hawaiian BBQ. Loco stands for "local" and grinz means "food" in Hawaii thus LocoGrinz means "local food."

on Main Street, between 5th and 6th, in downtown Moscow

Mikey's Greek Gyros has been a Moscow staple since 1979 when founder Mike Anfison had a gyro cart on Main Street. He moved it into its present downtown location (527 S. Main) a year later, where it has continued to grow. Mikey is now a vital part of Moscow's local color. Current owners Bert Harvey and Louise Todd strive to provide a place for everyone in Moscow.
Mikey's menu is grounded in Greek traditions -- from the most popular gyro sandwich to the beloved sides such as skordalia and spanikopita. Foodies can also get a taste of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean flavors with the abundant vegetarian offerings like tabouli, hummus, and local organic falafel from MaryJanesFarm. This cohesive blend of vegetarian and carnivorous selections makes Mikey's a convenient stop for all.
At Mikey's, expect to see friends and neighbors chatting in line and students and professors studying or grading while enjoying a favorite Mikey's meal. Of course, you don't need to end your experience at Mikey's with just a meal--sit back enjoy a couple of pints of beer, a game of ping pong, or come check out live music with local musicians.
One trip is all it will take to find out why Mikey's has secured itself in the hearts of Moscovites and opened its arms to all those who are just passing through.

The Palouse Animal Wellness & Surgery Center (PAWS) is a full service veterinary practice caring for companion animals in Moscow, Pullman and the Palouse region. We specialize in wellness care, dentistry, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery and offer cat/dog boarding.
Our goal is to provide your pet with the highest quality care and to provide you with excellent customer service. Our doors were opened on July 1, 1995 by Dr. Don Kubasch. He started seeing patients out of his house and soon business grew enough that he converted his basement into a veterinary hospital. When Dr. Kubasch retired in the fall of 2002, one of his co-workers, Dr. Katherine Miller, bought the practice.
In November, 2005 we opened the doors on our new, fully modern clinic. Located at 504 N. Main Street in Moscow, the clinic has state of the art diagnostic and care facilities. Katherine Miller, DVM is the practice owner and a 2002 graduate of the Washington State University Veterinary program. She lives here in Moscow with her husband, Jim, three young children, and the family dog "Sego".
Our team also consists of: two associate doctors, one office manager, two licensed technicians, two vet assistants, two technician assistants, two receptionists and our clinic cat, Klondike. We all look forward to making your experience at PAWS enjoyable and ensuring that your pet receives high quality care. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Broker/Owner Shelley L. Bennett has been a real estate agent in Moscow for over 34 years. As a lifelong resident of Moscow, Shelley sees the importance of balanced residential and commercial development of our cities and counties. Shelley is credited with renovating and rejuvenating the Eastside Marketplace. Through Shelley’s experiences as a commercial property owner she discovered the lack of commercial representation available in the Moscow/Pullman area, prompting her shift in focus from residential to commercial real estate. Holly J. Chetwood, Commercial Specialist, has been involved in business in Moscow since 2003 as the general manager of Paradise Ford and also served in the board of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce for 8 years. Palouse Ocularium Vision Center

Dianne French, Optician
Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 6 p.m.
on the northeast corner of 7th and Washington Streets (downtown Moscow)
|
|
|
|
|
Owners Bill and Dianne French consciously chose to make Moscow their home and start the Palouse Ocularium in 1988. Many factors weighed into the decision including Moscow's vibrant downtown, the openness of the community and the beauty of the rolling Palouse landscape. Since 1988, Palouse Ocularium has provided the Palouse region with high quality eyecare and good value in eyeglasses and contact lenses. Our outstanding collection of fine eyewear rivals that found in shops in Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco. By shopping locally, one can receive top-quality service, products and selection without the need to travel or pay the top-drawer prices seen in larger cities. In September, 2012, we purchased and consolidated another local practice, Ex-Sightment Optical. This merger has expanded our frame inventory and lens availability, and examinations and contact lens fittings are now available five days a week. Our office is in a custom-built craftsman-style bungalow house (built in 1923) and provides a comfortable, home-like atmosphere to our patients. Run as a boarding house in the 1930's, it was home to University of Idaho students including Professor Emeritus Malcolm Renfrew and has housed other notable Moscow residents over the years. With over 50 years of combined experience in the optical business, a professional, courteous attitude and an understanding of current trends and technology, the eyecare team at Palouse Ocularium is here to help you select the options that best meet your needs. We know that there are more choices for correcting vision and maintaining visual health than ever before, and we appreciate your commitment to supporting the economic and community-oriented success of our region. The Palouse Ocularium is a locally-owned, family business and the dollars that you spend here are returned to the local economy via our local purchases, taxes, and donations to a variety of local groups, causes, and projects.

Palouse Paradise Baskets
St. Mary's School
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 3pm
|
|
|
|
|
Palouse Paradise Baskets is Moscow's newest gift basket business, in operation since January of 2006. The manager of Palouse Paradise Baskets is Margaret Hanley. Our marketing director is Erin McCall. In addition, we have a slate of dedicated volunteers who help with all aspects of the business.
Our mission is twofold. We are very interested in promoting local and regional businesses through our baskets. Therefore, we seek local and regional merchants (from the Palouse and in North Idaho) who create unique products not commonly available. We work with those local merchants to create specialty themed baskets. We proudly feature products made by Orchard Farms, Cowgirl Chocolates, MaryJanesFarm, Harvard Honey Bees, Red Finn Coffee, Randl Candles, Wheatberries and Brocke's Cedar Ridge soups.
Our second goal is to support education with the proceeds from our business. Palouse Paradise Baskets operates under the umbrella of St. Mary's Catholic grade school in Moscow, Idaho. The money made from the basket sales goes into a scholarship fund designed specifically for families who want their children to attend St. Mary's school, but cannot afford it.
We offer a wide selection of holiday and themed baskets for any occasion. Our baskets include a variety of coffee, chocolate, tea, spa, garden and wine & cheese products. Consider one of our baskets any time you need a special gift for that special someone: birthdays, anniversaries, graduation, get well greetings or just to say thank you!
We would personally like to thank all of our local merchants who have contributed in so many ways to help make Palouse Paradise Baskets successful.

We opened Panhandle Artisan Bread Company to support the local community by providing a healthy product made with local ingredients.
In our carefully-crafted breads, a long fermentaiton process and hearth-baking are used to produce a bread with deep flavor and a crisp crust. All the loaves are made with pre-ferments, formed by hand, and contain natural leavening agents.
We encourage you to visit and tour our bakery, to try a sample, and to see how we maintain age-old baking traditions.
Our bread is available at our store Tuesday through Saturday during the winter months (from May through October, you can find us, and our bread, Saturdays at the Moscow Farmers' Market). The list below includes our available products and other items soon to come. In order to achieve deep flavor and unique texture, all of our breads are made with pre-ferments and require lengthy fermentation processes. Come taste the difference in our traditional breads.
We now offer:
Baguette/Rustic Roll These basics have a rich, russet crust contrasted by a creamy and aromatic crumb. The flavor of the local flour prevails in this classic.
Ciabatta This bread undergoes no forming or final shaping, its' wheat aroma and large air holes make it ideal for dipping in oil and vinegar or soup.
Potato Bread/Idaho Rolls Local organic yukon gold potatoes are roasted on ou hearth to concentrate flavor and then added to the dough. The high levels of starch carmelize into an eye appealing crimson crust.
Sourdough This everyday bread's distinctive aroma and taste are attributed to our local microorgan

RavenCroft is a small, low-impact, certified organic farm. Most of our produce is in raised beds and platform plantings. We construct as much as possible from recycled and down-cycled items, work with very low water use, and use no chemicals in our growing practices. We have owned and lived on the property for over 20 years, but only began producing commercially 2 years ago. Our philosophy and vision is tied in with the organic movement, with local small business, and with local sustainability.
Some specialty items we grow are heirloom tomatoes, garlic, squash, peppers, salad greens, peas, beans, eggplant, cilantro, carrots, beets/beet greens, tomatillo, and a large selection of herbs (sold both fresh and dried). We are just beginning to produce organic seed as well. We try to provide varieties unavailable elsewhere. We also have items we "handicraft" such as natural soaps, teas, and painted pottery. RavenCroft sells fresh produce at the Tuesday Growers Market (at the Moscow Food Co-Op), and produce/plants and handcrafted items at Dales Saturday Market outside Potlatch.

Strolling Like a Mother began its stroller journey in Moscow in May of 2013 with the vision of helping moms work towards their exercise goals, while also helping moms to bond with their children and other local moms. In that, the mission of SLAM is to facilitate friendship, family, and fitness in the Palouse region.
Strolling Like a Mother is an hour long stroller workout that includes core work, cardio bursts, and resistance training. Expect a challenging, but fun filled, hour long workout that is individualized to fit your fitness level and needs. At SLAM, you are surrounded by other women who are at the same stage of life. Moms of all fitness levels, both runners and walkers, are welcome. Pregnant women are welcome to join before baby arrives and post-partum moms can begin as soon as they are cleared for exercise by their midwife or doctor.
Classes end at parks, where kids can play while moms socialize. During winter months, we have several indoor locations so that moms may still continue their fitness journey together with other moms, while also interacting with their kids in a fun, educational manner. During class, kids are in their strollers and are entertained through counting, song, and education themes. Most importantly, kids that see their kids exercise are more likely to lead an active lifestyle.
Above all else, our workouts allow mom to get in shape and model a healthy lifestyle for baby, benefitting the whole family. A healthy, happy mom makes for a healthy, happy family! Personal training: by appointment.

The Wine Company of Moscow is conveniently located downtown. If you're wondering what will go best with tonight's main dish, or if you want to try something new, but are not sure what to choose, stop by the Wine Company of Moscow. Their friendly staff knows their products and will help you pick a pairing or something new to try. The Wine Company of Moscow finds the best value Wines and Beers for the price, and will only stock what their employees can stand by. You can also pick up gourmet foods from around the word - pastas, meats, cheeses, sauces, spices, and even chocolates. The Wine-O and Food-ie's Paradise!
Read what some of our customers are saying about the shop and what we offer:
"I went here with my wife to get a few gifts and they were very helpful. The staff had tried several of the wines they were selling- and helped to pick wines to match our tastes and price range- there were also several food stuffs and wine-related merchandise for sale. If you are looking for a stress-free wine-buying experience go here! Most of the wines are mid-range, perfect for the beginning wine taster." - John H
Have lived in Moscow for years and you can't beat the Wine Co. of Moscow. Always the perfect Vouvrey and best place to find lady fingers. Great little shop that makes itself feel huge. - Linda B
"You will always get a better wine here for the same price as bargain wines at the local grocery stores, and this was the only place I could find lady fingers to make tiramisu at home. Great cheese. Great owner and staff." - Kris W
"Great place: The Wine Company of Moscow is a small store jam packed with good wines at good prices. They also carry cheeses, pate, olives, and a small selection other imported food items. The staff is helpful and friendly. They will always help you pick out the right wine for the occasion. They are very knowledgeable on wine. A jewel tucked away in downtown. The place is open until 8pm most nights. It is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Wovax, LLC

Wovax brings corporate tools to real estate agents with custom native
mobile apps and the most powerful SEO-driven IDX on the planet.
Wovax, LLC was founded with the vision of taking the power of the
WordPress platform beyond web browsers and into the pockets of millions.
While every corporate company has a mobile app, fully custom native
apps for iOS and Android have not been available to smaller companies or
to individual agents, until now. Our goal is to bring real estate to
today’s mobile generation where apps are the dominant platform for
accessing the web.
But Wovax is more than just an app. We saw the potential of the MLS,
Google, WordPress, and smartphones to work together as an incredibly
powerful tool for reaching and retaining clients, so we built Wovax to
bring these all together. Our revolutionary IDX enables the individual
agent to compete with corporate for space in Google. And rather than
building yet another system for an agent to manage, we integrate our
agents’ apps and IDX to be managed from within their websites. All the
work an agent puts into updating and branding their website is
automatically transferred to their custom app.
Today our team continues to innovate as we work to bring cutting edge
technology and beautiful design to the world of real estate and to
provide the best support for our clients. We are committed to prompt,
personal communication, and we are always eager to hear new ideas and
meet new people. Chat with us on the website at wovax.com, or email us
and we'll get back with you today. We'd love to meet you!
